NOTICE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION PROCESS FOR THE PROPOSED GREEN HYDROGEN AND eSAF PLANT NEAR HOPEFIELD, WEST COAST DISTRICT, WESTHERN CAPE PROVINCE

Phelan eFuels Saldanha (Pty) Ltd (Phelan eFuels) is proposing the development of a Phelan eFuels Project -Saldanha Bay that will produce Electro-Sustainable Aviation Fuel (eSAF) from biogenic CO_2, captured via carbon capture technology, and green hydrogen via electrolysis.

The proposed Project development area is located in the Saldanha Local Municipality within the West Coast District Municipality in the Western Cape Province. The Project structures and infrastructure are proposed to be located on the Remainder of the Farm Portugeesche Fontyn 167, near Hopefield.

WSP Group Africa (Pty) Ltd (WSP) has been appointed as the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) by Phelan eFuels to manage the S&EIR process. Parties wishing to formally register as stakeholders in order to offer their comment on the proposed project are requested to forward their full contact details to the EAP at the details provided below. Registered stakeholders will be forwarded all future correspondence and notified individually of additional opportunities to participate in the processes.

Final Scoping Report

The Final Scoping Report (FSR) has been submitted to the Competent Authority for review and will be made available from WSP on request and/or can be downloaded using the links below:

Phelan eFuels Saldanha (Pty) Ltd (Phelan eFuels) stel die ontwikkeling van die Phelan eFuels Projek -Saldanhabaai voor wat Elektro-Volhoubare Lugvaartbrandstof (eSAF) uit biogeniese CO_2, deur koolstofopvangs tegnologie, en groen waterstof via elektrolise sal produseer.

Die voorgestelde Projekgebied is geleë in die Saldanha Plaaslike Munisipaliteit binne die Weskus Distriksmunisipaliteit in die Wes-Kaap Provinsie. Daar word voorgestel dat die projekstrukture en -infrastruktuur op die volgende grondperseel geleë sal wees – Res van die plaas Portugeesche Fontyn 167, naby Hopefield.

WSP Group Africa (Pty) Ltd (WSP) is deur Phelan eFuels aangestel as die Omgewingsimpakpraktisyn (OIP) om die S&EIR-proses te bestuur. Partye wat formeel as belanghebbendes wil registreer om kommentaar op die voorgestelde projek te lewer, word versoek om hul volledige kontakbesonderhede aan die OIP te stuur by die besonderhede hieronder voorsien. Geregistreerde belanghebbendes sal alle toekomstige korrespondensie ontvang en individueel in kennis gestel word van verdere geleenthede om aan die prosesse deel te neem.

Finale Konsep-Omvangsverslag

Die Finale Konsep-Omvangsverslag is aan die Bevoegde Owerheid voorgelê vir oorsig en sal op versoek by WSP beskikbaar gestel word en/of kan afgelaai word via die onderstaande skakels:

WSP sal sekere persoonlike inligting oor u as ‘n B&GP verwerk met die doel om u registrasie as ‘n B&GP moontlik te maak en om u besonderhede op ons databasis te stoor indien u toestemming gee dat ons dit doen. WSP gebruik hierdie besonderhede om u in die toekoms oor ander projekte te kontak.
