The closing date for this round of written submissions has been extended to 12 June 2026.
We encourage all Port Users, including those who were unable to attend the session, to kindly share your inputs, comments and recommendations to the PDFP Plans.
As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen stakeholder engagement and ensure that we consult as widely as possible across the value chain, we are currently updating our stakeholder databases across the port system. We have received several notifications regarding retirements, organisational changes, and movements within the industry.
We would therefore appreciate it if you could kindly advise us of any changes to contact details, organisational representation, or designated representatives within their organisations to ensure that our databases are updated and that future PCC, NPCC, Roadshow, tariff, and consultation-related communications are appropriately.
In terms of the Way Forward. The consultation process will continue as follows:
- The outcomes and key discussion points arising from the Port of Saldanha Bay Roadshow will be tabled and discussed at the upcoming Port of Saldanha Bay Ports Consultative Committee (PCC) Meeting scheduled for 09H00 Tuesday 1 July 2026.
- The consolidated feedback report will include matters raised during the Roadshow as well as written submissions received during the consultation period. Consolidated feedback will be shared with Port Users by mid-July 2026.
- Stakeholder inputs will assist in informing future planning processes and will be considered as TNPA prepares its 2027/2028 Tariff Application, scheduled for submission to the PRSA on 1 August 2026.
- Following submission of the Tariff Application, the PRSA annually invite public comment. The PCCs and NPCC will continue to circulate this invite and consolidate port user inputs into a formal NPCC submission to the PRSA.
- Port users are encouraged to participate actively throughout the tariff review process. Port Users submit comments through the PCC and NPCC and directly to the PRSA.
- The PRSA will be inviting Port User inputs into the review of the Tariff Strategy. The PCCs and NPCC will communicate these opportunities for participation and encourage Port Users to contribute both through the PCCs and directly to the PRSA.
- The Tariff Methodology review process similarly requires extensive stakeholder participation from across the South African port system. Further information and timelines relating to these processes will be communicated as they become available.
- The PCC Membership Confirmation and Port User Nomination and Election Process follows after the 12th June 2026. More information to follow.
Meaningful stakeholder participation remains important to ensuring that future infrastructure planning, port development priorities, investment decisions, and regulatory outcomes are informed by the needs and experiences of port users. The Roadshow forms an important part of ongoing consultation and collaboration.
Thank you once again for your participation, support, and commitment to the continued development of the Port of Saldanha Bay and the broader South African port system.
We look forward to receiving your comments by 12 June 2026.
